Biography:

Steve Birdine embodies these terms and utilizes them consistently as one of the nation’s leading speakers. As a former two-term National President (Grand Polaris) of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. and has traveled the country and delivered powerful keynote addresses, engaging workshops and seminars at over 100 institutions, conferences and businesses nationally.

His speeches, workshops, seminars and lectures constantly get great reviews for his down to earth and funny delivery styles. Mr. Birdine’s passion for academic excellence, student motivation, diversity education and leadership development has led him to be an inspiration (for those seeking strong, positive role models and/or honest dialogues and solutions) and to seek innovation in dealing with long standing historical issues impacting people of color. Not only has he committed himself to these issues. He is not afraid to answer the previously unanswered question. Nor, is he afraid to pose the question yet formed. He brings jazz, pizzazz and much, much more!

The Chicago native earned two degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before embarking on a fifteen year career as a higher education administrator (University of Illinois; University of Northern Colorado and Indiana University). His personal Vhonors include a four year listing in Ebony Magazine (2002-2005) as “One of America’s 100 + Most Influential African-Americans” and have been honored on numerous occasions for his humanitarian and service efforts. Mr. Birdine also founded and is president of Affirmations in Action.
