Cross Cultural Fraternal Advisors Institute (CCFAI)
Monday, July 17 - Thursday, July 20, 2017
The Cross Cultural Fraternal Advisors Institute (CCFAI) was created by experts and colleagues in the field to support you in addressing issues and concerns related to advising Culturally-Based Fraternal Organizations (CBFOs).
Always had a question
that you were scared to ask?
Not sure where to get answers?
Do you have challenges relating, connecting or understanding the experiences of NALFO, NAPA, NMGC, or NPHC members and/or advisors?
Struggling to create a network of support?
If so, this holistic, full immersion institute is for you. Over three days you will have the opportunity to become a more informed, innovative and inclusive fraternity/sorority advisor or regional/national fraternal leader.
Whether you are brand new to advising CBFOs or a seasoned veteran, you will leave the institute with concrete examples on how to improve fraternity and sorority life on your campus or in your respective organization.
CCFAI is appropriate for colleagues who are directly advising CBFOs, including volunteer chapter advisors, campus-based professionals, graduate assistants -- whether new or seasoned veteran. It is also appropriate for the national and regional leaderships of the organizations. Participants will leave CCFAI with concrete examples on how to improve fraternity and sorority life on your campus and within the organizations.
"With 10+ years of experience working with fraternities and sororities, I found this experience to be overall reaffirming. There's a lot that I know/feel that I'm doing well and a few things that I can approach differently. I am confident that I will be able to implement some of the strategies and concepts learned with my community." ~2016 CCFAI Participant
"This institute was an incredible experience for me. It served to open my eyes to positive practices that I could utilize, as well as stories and friends who have already helped me." ~ 2014 CCFAI Participant
"Once again, I am loving and benefitting from the information provided. I feel that I am better prepared to serve the CBFOs once I return to my campus." ~2016 CCFAI Participant
"I had no idea what to expect. I was actually a bit intimidated. You guys immediately put us at ease, and let people like me know that our knowledge was valued...I learned a ton and can't wait to be part of future Harbor Institute programs." ~ 2014 CCFAI Participant
